Book Talk: Flight Paths, with Darryl McGrath @ 1pm - 2pm

Come join ASCR and the Bethlehem Public Library as we host  Darryl McGrath, author of Flight Paths: A Field Journal of Hopes, Heartbreak and Miracles with NY’s Bird People. Darryl will share stories of the people in New York who worked to bring back the Bald Eagle and Peregrine Falcon in New York State after suffering significant population loses, because of the effects of DDT.  Darryl graduated from the Columbia Journalism School and has been a reporter or contributing staff writer for the Times Union, the Buffalo News, the Chicago Tribune, the Boston Globe and Metroland. She has loved birds since early childhood, and has written extensively about upstate New York’s environment and natural history. She lives in downtown Albany’s historic district, where she can see Bald Eagles and Peregrine Falcons along the Hudson River, a short distance from her home. Flight Paths is her first book, and will be available to purchase after the program (cash or check only). Meet at the Bethlehem Public Library 451 Delaware Ave, Delmar, NY 12054 for 1pm.  Free and open to the public.
