see details + The Night Shift: The Unexpected Links between Moths, Birds & Landscaping

Location: East Greenbush Community Library, 10 Community Way, East Greenbush, NY

"Naturalist Catherine Klatt will present her stunning photographs to illustrate the diversity and beauty of moths. Her talk will explore the tight links between moths and birds, and unexpected ways that our home landscaping choices affect bird and insect populations. Far from being just little brown nuisances, moths play a key role in the functioning of our plant and animal communities."

Bio:
Catherine Klatt is a lifelong amateur botanist and birder. She discovered the beauty of moths about 5 years ago, and since then has been fascinated by their diversity, and by their interactions with plants and other animals. She lives up in Knox, in the Hilltowns west of Albany, where she is documenting the moths on her property (up to about 600 species so far, out of an expected 1000+).
